New Phase : Internship (againnnnn....)
So 8 months of misery is finally over...

the long dragged pointless classroom training is done and DONE, and we are now obliged to undergo a 4 months training at the Operating Companies of Finmeccanica.

So where am i posted ?
At the city of choas, traffic congestion, garbage issues, gypsy populations and it is as old as the age of a dragon....Napoli or Naples (Italy)

At least that is how it is perceived....

the first time i ever step foot in Naples was just to go straight to the port, take the ferry....and off i go to Capri island..the opposite picture of the afore mentioned...and then there was sorrento...ohh a city of bliss...then positano and amalfi coast...the heavens on earth....

those places are not so far yet not so near....that was months before i found out that i'm posted here...right in the centre of naples...
So yes....the heart of naples is bounded by it's problems....but it's also showered by it's history....not quite perceived as an Italian city...with a little twist of influences from every empire that used to colonize them back in the days....they even have their own accent which is not understood by other italians (Napolitano).....the buildings around are rather old...but very pure and historical...

I've been here for a week now...sure the city is as popularly mentioned..
I'm not quite a spoilt bitch or a wannabe who would say No to Naples right away....
I've given the city a chance.....and i'm pretty OK with it....sure in terms of city structure and organization....Kuala Lumpur is '500 times' better....but it's depending on the parts of the city....i should say..the train station in naples is comparable to puduraya or show kit road...or lorong haji taib etc....and the better areas like jalan p.ramlee, jalan tunku abdul rahman etc....
All in all.....I survived my first week ALONE in Naples...

Now ..on WORK....
I'm posted to Ansaldo STS (thank god...at least i'm working in FNM co. that produces train systems...not guns or missiles or bombs...and they have a lot of international projects)
so far so good....i would take a million of where and what i am now...over being in Rome in the classroom, having to deal with the not-so-friendly staffs in the corporate sector....
I thought i would have trouble because of the language barrier...fortunately...my department is surrounded by young executives and engineers who's eager to practice their english...(at least it's understandable)....and sort of using me as they practice ground.....va bene...tutto bene...
1 week and i've already been given a task and a clear picture on the projects that i'll be working on....i love it..not the typical internship where u sit around and do nothing....
the pay...is quite well considering the fact that it's only an internship phase....
mi piace molto!!!

alrighty....i'm grateful...
sono contenta....
