nice pix. was in bali for few days before the merdeka. went to the cultural performances...& yes, the love of our lives...the gamelan. managed to buy 4 CDs. 1 of the traditional performances & the other 3 were new creation. my friend wants to convert one to mp3 format. will send you once i hv it.
as for the gamelan, i hvnt listened to the javanese, so can't really differentiate. i think the distinct difference btwn m'sian & balinese gamelan is that balinese has breathless pace & stronger emphasis on the bonang but m'sian tends to be melodaic, primed by gong. hmm, i'm not technically trained in gamelan so i might be wrong. but then again, that's how i listened to it.
An ordinary person who wishes life is just a straight line..and yet always ending up in a crossroad..who's always defensive over hassles...and at the end of the day always learning to accept that life is just not all in our power of control..who smiles in the morning..yet sometimes cry at night...who walks the talk..sometimes just walk away...who dreams and sometimes just let dreams be dreams....who loves life at every first wake...sometimes regret her last sight before her sleep...who wants to be just ordinary...but most of the time different...
